More than 2 million people in the United States live with little hope, love, peace or thankfulness. If you ever step foot in a prison, you will find one of the most cold, hopeless, and love-less places of strife and conflict. I’m pondering this Thanksgiving season on ways to share God’s great love and mercy with others who have yet to experience His great Gift.

Few people minster to those in prison or detention centers. Yet Jesus told His followers: “I was in prison and you came to Me…inasmuch as did it for one of the least of these, My brethern, you did it to Me.” Matthew 25:36, 40.

Are you willing to GO to a prison? Well, you can go when you join me in sending one of our Psalm 23, THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD picture books to over one thousand prisons. Our non-profit ministry sends this beautiful book to Christian Library International which then sends it to chaplains to put in the prison library or on a “cart” of books which is available to the prisoners.

Many of the men and women in prison do not read well, so THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD is a wonderful easy-to-read book that does NOT contain childish art and has been well-received by many adults and also senior citizens.

Join us this Thanksgiving season in giving prisoners a reason to be thankful that there is a Good Shepherd who loves them and wants to have a personal relationship with them. Send a check to HEART GIFTS (read about it on our website, www.seedfaithbooks.com) and contribute a special Thanksgiving gift toward sending Christian literature into the prison system across our country. Then pray for God to touch many hearts through these books.

You may also have Christian novels or non-fiction books in your home library that you could give to prison ministry. Go to the Christian Library International website, www.cli-nc.org, for more information on how to contribute your books for prison ministry.

And have a happy, blessed Thanksgiving from David and myself!
